The black stain that figures prominently in the route description is not the one above the small narrow, upward-pointing snowfield. The correct black stain is the dark, narrow, upward-pointing black stain above the tiny horizontal snowfield, left of the other black stain. The correct black stain slices thru the right side of a cliff band, as clearly shown on Secor page 65. The route then goes diagonally up to the left, toward the U-shaped notch near the center of the skyline ridge.
